SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Power has been restored after an unplanned outage caused thousand to lose power Sunday morning as temperatures were expected to warm throughout the day.

According to the SDG&E outage map, the outage left more than 2,000 customers in La Presa, Spring Valley, Rancho San Diego, Paradise Hills, Skyline and Bay Terraces without power.

A spokesperson said a mylar balloon that came into contact with power lines caused the outage. Residents in the area reported the outage at 8:21 a.m. Sunday.

Temperatures in the area today aren't expected to get too warm and should remain in the low to mid 70s.
