OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - An alleged gang member was arrested after police said he prompted lockdowns at two North County schools Thursday.

Oceanside Police received a report of someone with a gun around 11 a.m. on a small street just east of Interstate 5 and Oceanside Boulevard.

Police placed nearby Palm Quist Elementary School and Lincoln Middle School on lockdown following the report. The lockdowns were lifted around 12 p.m.

Police arrested one man, reportedly a gang member, who they said pointed a gun at two transients. Police did not find a gun on the man.

Parents of children at both schools were notified, police said, and there were no direct threats against either campus. No children were injured and no shots were reportedly fired.
