STOCKTON, Calif. -- A Stockton pit bull is being hailed a hero after dragging a baby to safety during a fire at the family’s home, according to KABC.
The baby, named Masailah, and pit bull, Sasha, were born just days apart and the family says they have a special bond.
Sunday night, the Sasha was in the backyard when Latana Chai, Masailah’s mother, noticed the dog behaving oddly.
The woman says as soon as she opened the door to the home, Sasha ran inside and started barking.
A fire from the neighbor’s home was spreading to the Chai family home.
When Chai went back inside, she found Sasha making her way to the back room and trying to drag Masailah out of the bed by her diaper.
The family now says they credit the pup with saving their family.
