ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — One person is dead following a multi-car crash on Interstate 15 in North San Diego County.
A 25-year-old man from Chula Vista was behind the wheel of a Mustang traveling southbound on I-15 collided with at least three vehicles just before 6:30 a.m. just north of the State Route 76 connector, according to California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Mustang was seriously injured and taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he later died. The man was not immediately identified.
Investigators said the driver of the Mustang was not wearing a seatbelt. CHP doesn't not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
