ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- An Escondido restaurant confirmed Thursday that an employee tested positive for coronavirus.
According to Habit Burger Grill, the restaurant learned that on March 27, an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
"Upon confirmation of the information, we immediately contacted local health officials and followed their direction," the restaurant said in a statement sent to 10News.

The restaurant was "thoroughly sanitized and disinfected, and all employees exposed to the team member were removed from the restaurant to be self-quarantined."
The restaurant was cleared to operate by local health officials based on the actions taken.
The news comes as 966 San Diego County residents have tested positive for the novel coronavirus as of Thursday afternoon.
