SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Mira Mesa man received a holiday surprise of the worst kind when he got home from a Christmas party on Saturday.
Just off Longwood Street, the joy of the season in full display at many homes. But at one home, that holiday spirit was stolen in the night. Jerry, who asked us not to use his last name, returned home from a party on Saturday night around midnight. In the morning, he made a disheartening discovery.
"The back door was open," said Jerry.

The home was ransacked. Several electronic items, including his two laptops, were missing. Jerry traced the path of the intruder.
"Went around a side gate, through a back door. Not sure how they got off my sliding door of the track but they did," said Jerry.
Jerry is sure his heart sank. When he looked inside two large tubs containing dozens of presents - many of them wrapped electronics - he had saved up to buy for his friends. Jerry was planning on loading up his truck to distribute all the gifts to his friend. Instead, there is nothing left.
