ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - The latest example of a crime targeting a senior community in the North County ended with a confrontation and a possible break.
On Saturday afternoon, Charlotte Van Buren and her husband spotted two youths coming from a neighbor's home with an Amazon package at the Citrus Gardens senior community.
She says she and her husband confronted the two and told them to put the package back. When she went to take a photo of the two, they ran off. She did snap the photo, though there is no clear shot of any faces.
The HOA president tells 10News, the community has been hit by a rash of mail thefts in the past 6 months. Also, he says 5 other senior communities in the Escondido and San Marcos area have recently been targeted for thefts and even break-ins.
