The San Diego Humane Society will be waiving adoption fees this holiday season.
According to the Humane Society, adoption fees will be waived from December 15 through the 24 at all campuses and satellite adoption centers.
Though the Humane Society says pets are a great gift, they also recommend bringing along the pet's future owner to ensure it's a good fit.

The Humane Society posted a list of 10 things to consider before adopting a pet.
- Living arrangements – The Humane Society says to consider the size of the animal while figuring out what type of pet fits your living arrangement.
- Who will care for the pet while you’re on vacation? – Planning to take a Christmas vacation? The Humane society says it’s important to plan ahead and to either find a reliable friend or neighbor to care for the pet while you’re away, or save some cash for a pet-sitting service.
- Can you have a pet where you live? – Some landlords and apartment complexes don’t allow pets, while others do but require a pet deposit and monthly fees.
