(KGTV) - While San Diego prepares for the Fourth of July, there are a number of events leading up to the big holiday this weekend.
In addition to the parades and dazzling fireworks displays, you won't want to miss the traditional weekend beer and music festival and educational exhibits for the whole family.

Crusin' Grand Escondido at East Grand Avenue - Friday
Take in a little community history in Escondido at the Crusin' Grand hot rod event this Friday. This free car show routinely sees about 5,000 visitors and car enthusiasts roll down Grand Avenue's hot rod heaven. More information.

23rd Annual Oceanside Independence Parade on Coast Highway - Saturday
Oceanside's annual July 4th parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday in front of the 101 Cafe, traveling up Coast Highway from Wisconsin Street to Pier View Way. Get out and enjoy the parade atmosphere as military units, classic cars decked out in red, white, and blue, and more as they travel through Oceanside. Independence Festival at Cesar Chavez Park - Saturday
Independence Festival at the Border brings live music, food, and fireworks to Cesar Chavez Park in San Ysidro in celebration of the July 4th holiday. Families can enjoy rides and games, art, and the South Bay's biggest fireworks display. More information.
Horizon Beer & Music Festival at Embarcadero Marina Park - Saturday
More than 50 craft beers from dozens of local and regional breweries will be featured along with live music at the Horizon Beer and Music Festival. Vendors, DJs, and food trucks will be on hand for attendees, at this event sponsoring Urban Angels, a non-profit that focuses efforts on helping to feed the homeless. More information.
San Diego Symphony's Star Spangled Pops at Embarcadero Marina Park - Saturday and Sunday
The San Diego Symphony will put on a patriotic display like none other in the Starr Spangled Pops event. Music from America's past, from movies to Broadway, will highlight this musical salute to our country's armed forces. More information.
