DID YOU KNOW… Swim lessons and water safety is just one of many ways the YMCA helps strengthen our communities and get kids ready for summer!

The YMCA offers several swim programs, but Safety Around Water is designed to engage and educate parents about the importance of water safety skills and provide more youth access to water safety lessons. Typical lesson includes: exercises to help kids adjust to water, basics if they unexpectedly find themselves in water, topics if they see someone in the water who needs help, etc.

The City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department and the YMCA of San Diego County are proud to be collaborating on the inaugural Summer Safety Splash Tour 2019. The tour offers a series of FREE community-based events to help spread water safety awareness and prevent drowning. Come enjoy swim time, water safety activities, resource booths, refreshments and FUN!
