(KGTV) - A San Diego woman is suing American Airlines, claiming she received numerous harassing text messages from an airline employee who allegedly got her phone number off her luggage tag.

According to a CNN report, Ashley Barno was waiting to catch a flight out of San Diego’s Lindbergh Field in April 2019 when she received text messages from a man who referred to himself as “Ahmad.”

In the messages shared by Barno’s attorney with CNN, the man complimented Barno’s appearance and told her that he was on the same flight as her.

At one point during the exchange, Ahmad allegedly offered to find Barno a better seat on the plane and told her he obtained her phone number from her baggage tag.

During the flight to Chicago, Barno alerted a flight attendant of Ahmad, and the attendant told the woman that they were familiar with him.

When the flight landed, Ahmad was escorted off the plane first.

In Barno’s lawsuit, she claims the experience has led to personal and emotional problems.
