Sheriff's deputies Sunday investigated the stabbing death of a 35-year-woman near a home in Boulevard, on the Campo Indian Reservation, an official said.
The woman's identity was not released, and an autopsy was pending.
Deputies were called out to 36380 Tusil Street at 11:28 a.m. Saturday and found the woman with major stab wounds to her upper body, sheriff's Lt. Greg Rylaardsdam said.
Deputies attempted first aid, but neither they nor paramedics were able to revive her, he added.
Three people were detained Saturday for questioning in connection with the death, Rylaardsdam said, adding that because there are a number of homes along Tusil, deputies interviewed over 10 people in the area.
The sheriff's department asked that anyone with information on the woman's death call to the Homicide Division at 858-974-2321.
