What's open, closed on Thanksgiving Day in San Diego?

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A number of local government offices and services will be unavailable due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

In the city of San Diego, the following will be closed on Thanksgiving Day:

-- All city administrative offices, libraries, recreation centers and swimming pools
-- All public buildings in Balboa Park
-- Tecolote Nature Center, Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center and Chollas Lake
-- Miramar Landfill

Curbside trash pickup for city residents will be delayed by one day

San Vicente Reservoir will be open on Thanksgiving, as well as city skate parks. All city golf courses will maintain regular hours, but holiday rates may apply.

Parking meters, yellow zones and time restrictions for street parking in the city of San Diego will not be enforced. However, red, white, and blue zones in the city will be enforced.

In San Diego County, the following will be closed due to the Thanksgiving holiday:

-- All county administrative offices, family resource centers, libraries and animal shelters (closed Nov. 22-23)
-- Community and teen centers in Fallbrook, Lakeside, Spring Valley
-- 4S Ranch Sports Park offices are closed Nov. 22 but open the following day. Rec office is closed Nov. 22-23; park is open as normal

All county parks and campgrounds will be open during normal hours.

Metropolitan Transit System buses and trolleys will operate on a Sunday schedule. Most express and rural bus routes won't run.

Buses and trolleys will run on a normal weekday schedule on Friday, with some minor exceptions for bus routes.

North County Transit District buses, trains and light-rail will operate on a Sunday schedule and return to normal on Friday. Coaster fares will not be accepted on Amtrak Surfliner trains through Sunday.
