POWAY, Calif. (KGTV)-- A water main break and sinkhole prompted the closure of a road Wednesday afternoon, according to the City of Poway.
The break happened around 3:26 p.m. on Martincoit Road, in a residential area south of Painted Rock Elementary School.
Poway Public Works crews told 10News a broken water pipe caused the gaping sinkhole in the middle of the road. They say the pipe burst due to water pressure when they were working on another water line down the street and re-pressurized the pipe.
