SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--A high-speed police pursuit of a sharply dressed suspect ended on State Route 67 Wednesday afternoon.
A man driving a silver sedan failed to yield to National City police prompting a chase that led officers through Scripps Poway Parkway and finally ended in in the 17000 block of Highway 67 in Ramona at approximately 1:15 p.m.
The driver was identified as a suspect in an armed robbery. Police tried to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle at about 12:32 p.m. before the suspect fled from police, according to National City Police Sergeant Chris Sullivan.
The suspect was seen evading a spike-strip but eventually slowed his vehicle and pulled over on the two-lane highway.
He then emerged slowly from the car wearing a business suit and tie as more than eight law enforcement vehicles and K9s surrounded him on the two-lane highway. Police took him into custody.
No injuries were reported. The National City Police Investigations Division is currently investigating.
