Vacant El Cajon home goes up in flames

EL CAJON, Calif. – No one was injured after a vacant home was engulfed in flames late Sunday night in El Cajon. 
 
The fire broke out before 10:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Mollison Avenue. Responding Heartland Fire & Rescue crews responded to find flames shooting up from several rooms. They had received reports that people may be trapped inside, but after breaking out the windows and entering the home, they found no one in inside. 
 
The fire did not spread to any other buildings. The vacant home is often frequented by squatter, El Cajon police told 10News. 
 
The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
