CARLSBAD, Calif. - A suspicious package found at a Vons grocery store in Carlsbad, prompting an evacuation, was ruled harmless.
According to Carlsbad police, sometime before 10:50 a.m. an employee in the Wells Fargo bank branch inside the Vons, located at 6951 El Camino Real, found an unlabeled bag with heavy contents.
Police responded and evacuated both employees and customers as a precaution. Other stores in the shopping plaza were also evacuated.
Shortly before 12:40 p.m., authorities at the scene gave the all-clear after it was found that the bag contained shoes.
