SOLANA BEACH -- A first-grade student at Skyline Elementary is trying to win a $30,000 makeover for her school cafeteria and you can help by voting here.
This Fall, Arianna Vega entered a national contest put on by Uncle Ben's. The Ben's Beginners Cooking Contest promotes healthy cooking at home.
Arianna and her school were chosen as one of 25 finalists. If she garners enough votes by Nov. 13, she can become one of five grand prize winners, which means she would win a $30,000 cafeteria makeover for Skyline, $15,000 cash and a hometown celebration.
If Arianna wins, Skyline Elementary would use the money to purchase new appliances to replace ones that are outdated. This would help the school offer students fresher, healthier meals.
