SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--Today the San Diego County Sheriff's Department released the names of four deputies involved in a deadly shooting on the Barona Reservation last week.
Deputies David Williams, Aaron Brooke, Patrick Farber and Matthew Addenbrooke were part of the incident on Wildcat Canyon Road at Ketuull Uunyaa Way.
Officials told 10News reporter Robert Santos that the incident began when a call came in as somebody driving recklessly on the reservation.
After a short pursuit, 50-year-old Jeroen Koornwinder stopped, got out of a white truck and tried to re-enter his vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's deputies then used bean bag rounds and stop sticks to try to prevent him from leaving, but he succeeded in taking off again.
Deputies Farber and Addenbrooke then fired, causing Koornwinder's vehicle to hit strike a deputy's vehicle and another car.
Two people in that car were injured and transported to the hospital.
