Serra Mesa Metro PCS store robbed, ninth similar incident in three weeks

SAN DIEGO - A Serra Mesa Metro PCS store has become the latest location of an armed robbery, the ninth such store to be robbed in three weeks.

Police said two suspects, armed with handguns, entered the store at 2691 Mission Village Drive just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, demanding cash and phones.

Police did not disclose exactly what the suspects left the store with.

Both suspects appeared to be in their 20s, police said. One suspect was described as 5-foot-8-inches tall, weighing about 210-220 lbs., and wearing a grey hoodie and shorts. The other suspect was described as 5-foot-6-inches tall, weighing 180 lbs., and was wearing a grey hoodie and black or grey pants. 

SDPD robbery detectives are currently investigating the incident.

The robbery is the latest in a series of armed robberies of Metro PCS stores in San Diego. However, police have not said if the robberies are linked.
