SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--San Diego Police are searching for a man who followed a 12-year-old girl Wednesday as she was walking on Santo Rd. in Tierrasanta.

The girl tried to avoid the man by crossing the roadway near Snook St., not far from Miller Elementary School.  He also crossed the road, and she told him to stop following her.  He said he wanted to talk to her, but she told him to leave her alone.  The man followed her onto a residential street.  When he approached a second time, the girl hit him, then ran away and hid.  She eventually ran home and told her mother.   The girl was not injured.

Police say the suspect is a dark-skinned man, possibly Hispanic or Filipino, in his late 20's, 5'10" to 6' tall with a medium build.  On Wednesday he was wearing a grey zip-up hoodie over a white t-shirt and blue jeans, with gray Nike athletic shoes with a white logo.  He had cheetah-framed sunglasses on top of his head.  The girl told police he appeared to have a green tattoo on the back of his neck.
