HOUSTON, Tex. (KGTV) - A San Diego Marine sergeant and a woman died in what appears to be a murder-suicide, the Marine Corps Times reported Friday.
Police found Sgt. Massamba Diatta, 29, and the 23-year-old woman inside a Houston hotel room earlier this week.
A person assigned to Diatta’s unit notified police about “disturbing information” being posted by the Marine on social media, according to the Houston Chronicle. The fellow Marine said Diatta could be suicidal and was likely with a woman and child.
The 4-year-old boy was found wandering around the hotel. Police believe the boy witnessed the shooting and went to the hotel’s front desk to say a man shot his mother, the Chronicle reported.
Diatta was assigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot.
