HOUSTON, Tex. (KGTV) - A San Diego Marine sergeant and a woman died in what appears to be a murder-suicide, the Marine Corps Times reported Friday.
Police found Sgt. Massamba Diatta, 29, and the 23-year-old woman inside a Houston hotel room earlier this week.
A person assigned to Diatta’s unit notified police about “disturbing information” being posted by the Marine on social media, according to the Houston Chronicle . The fellow Marine said Diatta could be suicidal and was likely with a woman and child.
The 4-year-old boy was found wandering around the hotel. Police believe the boy witnessed the shooting and went to the hotel’s front desk to say a man shot his mother, the Chronicle reported.
Diatta was assigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot.
