OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A north county non-profit is using feral cats to help homeowners dealing with rodent problems.

Love Your Feral Felines started the "Barnyard Cat" program a few years back.

It pairs feral cats who would otherwise be euthanized with owners who want to adopt and naturally control the pest population.

One homeowner in Poway has already adopted two cats and adopted two more this week.

She says the cats help cut down on the squirrel and rodent population and she likes that she doesn't have to use traps or chemicals around her other pets and children.
