FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) - The driver suspected of a hit and run crash in Fallbrook that left a bicyclist with major injuries has not been found, said the California Highway Patrol Thursday.

The crash happened just before dawn on Dec. 13 on Olive Hill Rd. north of Highland Oaks, officers said.

Carlos Torres Mendez was riding his black Schwinn on the right side of the road when he was struck by a car.

Torres was thrown off his bicycle and injured. He is being treated at Palomar Medical Center.

Officers said the driver, who they believe was Dylan Kepley, drove away in in 2011 dark gray Toyota Prius.

The car was found on Dec. 16 with moderate damage to its right front end.

Kepley, 28, is a resident of Fallbrook. He has not been found.

The CHP is asking anyone with information about Kepley’s location or the crash to call 858-637-3822.
