SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One man is dead after he was struck and killed by an SUV Friday in Otay Mesa West.
San Diego Police said the 58-year-old man was found lying in the 4300 block of Palm Avenue, suffering from major injuries when first responders arrived. Officer performed CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was wearing dark colored clothing and using a walker to cross the street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit, according to SDPD Sgt. Michael Tansey.
Police said the driver of the GMC Yukon SUV, a 49-year-old woman, remained at the scene.
Alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the collision, Sgt. Tansey said. SDPD Traffic Division officers are investigating the incident.
