OTAY MESA, Calif. — Police are investigating a car set ablaze in the front driveway of a house early Monday morning.

A family was inside the home on Caulfield Drive near 27th Street around 2:30 a.m. when a Honda Civic was apparently set on fire. Police found a burned gas container and a fireplace ignitor, 10News photojournalist Paul Anderegg reported.

Also found was some sort of writing in red spray paint next to a stack of bullets.

No residents were reported injured.

Hours later, 10News reporter Mimi Elkalla reported that the smell of gasoline lingered in the air.
