LOGAN HEIGHTS, Calif. (KGTV)--One man is dead and a suspect is on the loose following a Saturday night shooting, according to the San Diego Police Department.

A 34-year-old Hispanic man was walking on South 31st Street near Martin Avenue around 11:56 p.m. when a car stopped at the intersection, and a passenger exited and opened fire, police said.

When officers arrived they found the victim laying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. They performed CPR on the victim, and he was transported to UC San Diego Hospital where he died hours later.

Shell casings and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle jacket were still on the ground Sunday morning when 10News reporter Hannah Mullins arrived on the scene.

Police have not yet released a suspect description.
