SAN DIEGO COUNTY (KGTV) — SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — With heavy rain expected to fall across San Diego County starting Thursday night into Friday, free sandbags will be available for residents at various locations.

CITY OF SAN DIEGO

Sandbags are available for residents in limited supply and can be picked up at 11 recreation centers in each City Council District. Sandbags are limited to 10 bags per city household or business, and sand is not provided.

CHULA VISTA

Sandbags can be obtained at the city's Public Works facility (1800 Maxwell Rd.) on Thursday, Nov. 13 (7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) and Friday, Nov. 14 (7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.).

EL CAJON

Residents can obtain a maximum of 10 sandbags but will have to fill their own bags. Availability is while supplies last at the city’s Public Works Operations (1060 Vernon Way; phone: 619-441-1658), Monday-Thursday (6 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) and every other Friday 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m.).

LA MESA

Residents are limited to 10 bags with sand per residence, while supplies last. Sandbags can be obtained at the Public Works Operations Yard (8152 Commercial St.; phone: 619-667-1450), Monday-Thursday (6 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) and every other Friday 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m.).

LEMON GROVE

Sandbags and sand are available for free for residents, but they must fill their own bags. Limit is 10 per residence. Sandbags can be obtained at the Lemon Grove Heartland Fire Station No. 10 (7853 Central Ave.), Monday-Friday (8 a.m.-5 p.m.).

NATIONAL CITY

Residents can obtain up to 5-10 sandbags based on availability and while supplies last. Per the city, bags only are available at National City Fire Station 31 (2333 Euclid Ave.) and Station 34 (343 E. 16th St.).
