LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Police say a driver involved in a road-rage incident in Hollywood was struck and killed by her own car.

Authorities say 27-year-old Sophia Ardalan died early Tuesday. Police say her Mercedes-Benz bumped a motorcyclist on Sunset Boulevard and he followed it to an apartment building.

Witnesses tell KCBS-TV the driver and passenger got out, argued with the motorcyclist, then got back in.

Police say the car began moving but the driver fell out. The passenger then tried to drive away in the car -- which had struck a tree -- but crushed the driver.

The passenger, identified by Los Angeles police as 27-year-old Samantha Cunhua, was later taken into custody.

Cunha, according to the LAPD, was booked on suspicion felony hit-and-run and was being held on $50,000 bail.
