UPDATE: The San Diego Police Department reported Saturday morning Jorge Merino was found unharmed.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Family members are frantically searching for Jorge Luis Merino who suffers from liver cancer. They say the 56-year-old was last seen putting taking the trash out in front of his home on June 29 around 9 p.m.

Merino has liver cancer and takes medication that alters his mental status. He has wandered off before because of this altered state but has never been missing for this long.

Merino is 5-foot 8-inches tall, weighs 230 pounds and has hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a tan hat, blue jacket with a green collar, black pants, and black shoes.

If you've seen him, contact the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000.
