San Diego veterans from WWII and the Korean War took a special trip to the nation's capital last May, embarking on an "Honor Flight" to visit Washington D.C., tour memorials, and be recognized for their service.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It’s the journey of a lifetime for World War II and Korean War veterans: the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
10News had the privilege of joining Honor Flight San Diego and a group of veterans in May.
The Honor Flights are free for veterans. Each trip costs $240,000 and relies on donations.
