A longtime member of the Manson family is from San Diego. Sandra Collins Good is the daughter of a local banker and a former Point Loma High School student.
Good joined the Manson family in April of 1968, less than two years before five Manson family members killed Sharon Tate and four others at the actress’ Beverly Hills home. Tate was eight months pregnant at the time of her death.
Good was in jail for another crime at the time of the Tate murders but she was arrested at the Spahn Ranch when it was raided by police. She was later sent to prison after her attempt to mail threatening letters to more than 170 corporate executives whom she believed were polluting the earth. She served nearly 10 years before her parole in 1985.
Good was friends with notorious Manson follower “Squeaky” Fromme, who is best known for trying to assassinate president Gerald Ford in 1975.
