SAN DIEGO - A man who was fatally hit by a vehicle on a highway earlier this month has been identified as Grant Weidman, an active duty Camp Pendleton Marine.
Weidman, 28, was hit by a car as he walked across lanes of the I-8 near the College Avenue exit in the early morning hours of Oct. 9.
The driver stopped and called 911 but he was confirmed deceased at the scene by first responders.
It's still not clear exactly why Weidman was on the freeway in the first place.
