A man who fatally shot his roommate and wounded another man in an Oceanside apartment last summer was sentenced Tuesday to 21 years in state prison.

Calvin Glass Jr., 19, pleaded guilty in March to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder in the shooting last July 26 that happened in the apartment that Glass and 18-year-old Jordan Luis shared.
Julius Lowe, a close of friend of Luis, was wounded.
The shootings apparently stemmed from a simmering conflict between Glass and Luis, who were part of a transitional housing program for young people who have aged out of the foster care system.
The roommates had asked program officials to relocate them because they weren't getting along and were bickering over the apartment's cleanliness, according to friends.
