SAN DIEGO ? A man was stabbed and robbed by a stranger while leaving his apartment Monday morning in the Lake Murray area.
The stabbing occurred before 7:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of Lake Arrowhead Drive.
According to San Diego police, the victim was leaving to go for a bike ride when the male suspect approached him and asked for his cellphone. The suspect took the victim's phone and stabbed him three times in the chest, police said.
The victim ran back into his apartment and called police. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There was no description of the suspect, who remains at large.
Police are investigating.
