SAN DIEGO - Authorities Monday released the name of a 38-year-old man who was shot to death over the weekend in Otay Mesa West.
Patrol officers responding to a report of a man lying in the street in the 900 block of Picador Boulevard found Miguel Angel Villalobos of Imperial Beach suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, according to San Diego police.
Medics tried in vain to revive Villalobos before pronouncing the National City native dead at the scene, Lt. Manny Del Toro said.
Area residents described hearing gunshots around the time Villalobos was found in the roadway and seeing a white car, possibly a Honda or Nissan, speeding away.
Police have gotten no description of the shooter.
