RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif. – A man suspected of firing several shots inside a Rancho Bernardo home Saturday morning was in custody.

Sometime before 11:30 a.m., San Diego police responded to a 911 call at a home in the 12000 block of San Tomas Place about a possible burglary. However, when officers responded, they found no signs of a break-in. They learned that the man who lives in the home had fired four shots.

Officers determined the man may be suffering from a mental illness. He was taken into custody and will receive a psychological evaluation.

No one was hurt. The neighborhood was placed under a shelter in place order during the incident. That has since been lifted.
