SAN DIEGO – Authorities have charged a man with murder in a shooting that killed a teen and wounded another man in the Skyline area earlier this month.

San Diego police report that two men approached and opened fire on 18-year-old Gregory Davis and 25-year-old Avery Ealy on the evening of Aug. 2 in the area of 61st Street and Alderley Street. Davis and Ealy were driven to Paradise Valley Hospital and then transferred to a San Diego hospital, where Davis died from bullet wounds to his upper body. Ealy sustained a non-life-threatening leg wound.

San Diego police Homicide Unit detectives later identified 25-year-old Deshaun Prescott as one of the shooters. Prescott was already in custody on a probation violation and was charged with murder Monday.

Police said the second suspect has not yet been identified.
