Teen gunned down in Encanto, man injured

SAN DIEGO -- Authorities publicly identified a young man killed in a shooting near his home Tuesday evening in the Skyline area and a companion who was wounded by the gunfire but is expected to survive.
  
Gregory Davis, 18, and Avery Ealy, 25, both of San Diego, were driven to a hospital in National City after two unidentified men walked up and opened fire on them near the intersection of 61st and Alderley streets around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, San Diego police Lt. Manny Del Toro said.
  
Both were transferred to a San Diego hospital, where Davis later died from bullet wounds to his upper body. Del Toro said the second victim suffered a leg wound that was not considered life-threatening.
  
A detailed description of the gunmen was not immediately available, but Del Toro said both were thin, between 19 and 21. One was wearing a red-hooded sweatshirts and the other had on a black hoodie. They were last seen heading east on Alderley Street.
