LAKESIDE -- A San Diego police lieutenant injured in a collision in Lakeside remained hospitalized Tuesday.
The lieutenant, whose name was not released, suffered minor injuries in the crash at the intersection of Julian Avenue and Lakeview Road Monday night but is doing well, according to San Diego police and the Lakeside Fire Protection District.
The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger were also hospitalized, according to fire officials.
The off-duty lawman's vehicle was struck by a pickup truck that ran a stop sign at the intersection. Somehow both vehicle's came to a rest in the front yard of a nearby home, according to news reports.
The roadway in the area was temporarily closed following the crash, fire officials said.
