SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was seriously injured, and a man suffered minor injuries after a car struck them as they crossed a street in Chollas View Monday night.
San Diego police said the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 500 block of 47th Street, at Hartley Street.
According to police, four people were crossing the street as yellow cross lights flashed in the crosswalk at Hartley Street when a Cadillac CTS traveling northbound on 47th Street failed to stop and struck two of the pedestrians.
Police said a 36-year-old man suffered a broken leg and other non-life threatening injuries, while a 34-year-old woman sustained a broken pelvis and other injuries that were considered life-threatening. Both victims were taken to the hospital.
The two other pedestrians were not hurt.
The Cadillac’s driver remained at the scene for questioning, and police determined DUI was not a factor in the collision.
