SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspected shoplifter was shot and killed by a security guard outside a downtown San Diego grocery store Friday night, according to San Diego Police.
Officers were called to 100 block of G Street around 9 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, officers found an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound on the sidewalk in front of the store. The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.
After investigating, detectives learned that the man was involved in a fight with a security guard inside the store.
“The guard was injured and fired his handgun at the male, injuring him,” police said.
The identity of the deceased hasn't been released at this time.
