SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Deputies are investigating after a man wearing a swastika mask showed up at a Santee Grocery store Thursday evening.

Authorities were called to the Food 4 Less on the 9400 block of Cuyamaca Street just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies were called to the store after receiving reports of a man wearing a mask with a swastika symbol on it.

After responding, deputies asked the man to remove the mask and he complied, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department says.

The department will continue to look into the matter, authorities say.

"The Sheriff's Department does not condone hate or acts of intolerance. We are a county that is welcoming of people from all backgrounds," the department said.

The incident comes just days after a Santee man arrived at a Vons in Santee wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood.
