JULIAN, Calif. (KGTV) -- Throngs of people flocked to Julian Thursday after the area received heavy snow amid a winter storm.
Throughout the day Thursday, the small town was flooded with visitors from the city who were looking for a winter wonderland.
The cold weather and long lines weren’t enough to keep people away.
Visitors said the toughest part of the day was the traffic. It was bumper to bumper on the roadways on the way to Julian.
Despite the traffic, there were a lot of smiling faces, snowball fights and sledding.
“It’s just been a really busy day. Everyone’s been in really good spirits. It’s a great day. Lots of people coming around everyone having fun. Everyone being respectful,” said Teak Nichols with Mom’s Bakery.
According to the National Weather Service, Julian received eight inches of snow as of 3:45 p.m.
Other areas throughout the County like Palomar Mountain received 10 inches of snow.
