ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — A brother has been arrested for attempted homicide following an altercation with his sister in North San Diego County, and police say they do no believe the woman will survive.

Jose Enrique Bautista, 25, was arrested by Escondido Police just after midnight Friday in the 100 block of E. 15th Ave. Police were called to the residence after Bautista was involved in a physical altercation during an argument with his 27-year-old sister, Laura.

Upon police and fire crews' arrival, police say Laura was unresponsive.

EPD said the woman was severely injured after the altercation and not expected to survive.

Probable cause was developed to arrest Bautista for attempted homicide, police said. The investigation Friday was ongoing.
