BONSALL, Calif. (KGTV) – A man was killed following a DUI-related crash on State Route 76 New Year’s Day, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP says the head-on crash happened on the SR-76 near Monserate at 3:54 a.m. Tuesday.
According to CHP, a 25-year-old man living at Camp Pendleton was driving a Lexus eastbound in the westbound lanes of the 76 when he struck a man riding a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital with minor scratches and later arrested after CHP says he was determined to be under the influence.
