SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Fire knocked down a 1-acre fire in the Meadow Lark near transmission lines. Numerous engines responded to Sevan Court and the intersection of Meadow Lark Drive and Blue Jay Drive in Birdland.

For that reason, San Diego Police shut down certain streets surrounding the fire.

SDFD said the high winds whipped up the fire, and out of an abundance of caution homes on the hillside above the fire were evacuated.

As of 12:53 P.M., the forward progression of the fire had been stopped, and crews were working on line construction around the fire. Around 2 P.M., the fire had been completely knocked down.
