SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The woman who ran down an El Cajon boy and hid from police as they tried to arrest her was sentenced Thursday.

Courtney Webber received a three-year prison term for the October crash.

The incident happened at 7:30 a.m. as the boy was riding his bike to school through the intersection of Sunshine Avenue and West Main Street in El Cajon.

Officers found the 9-year-old boy lying in the southbound lanes of the road, suffering from serious head injuries and a c-3 vertebral fracture.

El Cajon Police used surveillance video to identify the Honda Fit involved in the crash and tracked Webber to her mother's home in Lakeside. Officers said here was a brief standoff with Webber before they went into a home to arrest her.

Court documents indicated Webber was homeless and had previously had her driver's license revoked.
