SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer continues to recover from serious injuries sustained in a crash on a San Marcos-area freeway.
On Oct. 22, CHP motorcycle Officer Brandon Reynolds was responding to a crash on state Route 78 near Nordahl Road when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle.
According to CHP officials, Reynolds suffered major injuries to his entire right side, including his upper and lower leg, right side of his torso, right shoulder and arm, and internal injuries.

Reynolds underwent multiple surgeries due to his injuries, and CHP officials said he remains under Palomar Health care and is undergoing physical therapy and continued care.
Reynolds is a 21-year CHP veteran and has been a motorcycle officer for the Oceanside Area for two and a half years.
CHP officials said despite his long road to recovery, Reynolds “is in positive spirits and determined to return to his duties as a California Highway Patrol Officer.”
