SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- U.S. Border Patrol arrested 15 people after a vessel made landfall near Sunset Cliffs early Monday morning.
According to USBP, lifeguards saw the vessel off Sunset Cliffs around 7:10 a.m. Monday near Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Ladera Street.
Agents responded and found that the boat had capsized and 13 people were stranded on the beach.
"Agents set up a perimeter and arrested two people who had climbed up the cliffs from the beach. The remaining 13 people stayed on the beach," the agency said.
Agents determined that 12 Mexican men, two Mexican women, and one Honduran man were aboard the Panga boat.
The group was taken to a local Border Patrol station for processing.
